Terra Nostra Guest Ranch
Terra Nostra Guest Ranch is a 200-acre lakefront historic horse ranch that sits on a classic Chilcotin property with the snow-capped Coast Mountains as the horizon line beyond Clearwater Lake.
Quiet, solitude and space are the dominant features, which lend themselves well to wildlife spotting, hiking, fishing, horseback riding and relaxing.
The ranch is a short driving distance to a number of dramatic mountain valleys and hiking trails inside and outside Tweedsmuir Provincial Park.
Terra Nostra Guest Ranch is the ideal place for:
- Unforgettable day trips to the famous Chilko Lake, Rainbow Mountains in Tweedsmuir Park, Bella Coola, and the Kleena Kleene waterfalls.
- A variety of outdoor activities such as canoeing, hiking, mountain biking, and of course horseback riding.
- Relaxing and enjoying the comfort, remoteness and peace of the ranch and its surroundings
- Fly-outs by floatplane to remote fishing lakes, outposts or a scenic tour of the massive Mount Waddington, Hunlen Falls and the Monarch Icefields
- Opportunistic wildlife watching for an array of bird species, Grizzly and Black Bears, Caribou, Moose, Beaver and much more ?.
The Family, Company, or Individual Getaway
The peaceful outdoor ranch atmosphere and facilities lend themselves well for family, company or the individual getaway. We offer individual suites, private cabins or group facilities to accommodate for your vacation and adventure program.
A canoe, kayak, or fishing boat is all you will need to enjoy a beautiful summer day on Clearwater Lake. Perhaps combine it with a scenic hike, mountain bike or trail ride allowing for various destinations depending on your enthusiasm and time you would like to spend in the saddle.
Finish off the day by relaxing and enjoying some drinks on the porch or around the campfire while the sun is setting into the horizon and delightful aromas of the hearty home cooked dinner are coming out of the kitchen.
Rent-a-Ranch
For the large family events, weddings or company retreats rent the entire ranch with the option of participating in an everyday working ranch day. Feed and take care of the livestock, build a fence or scout the pastures on horseback are all in a days work.
Logistics
Three scenic possibilities:
1. From Vancouver, follow Hwy. 1 East through the spectacular Fraser Canyon to Cache Creek. From there take Hwy. 97 North to Williams Lake, then Hwy. 20 West to Kleena Kleene.
2. From Vancouver, take a ferry from Tsawwassen or Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, then drive north to Port Hardy to catch a prebooked ferry along the Inside Passage to Bella Coola. From Bella Coola drive along Hwy 20 East to Kleena Kleene.
In combining the above route, you can make an incredible circle tour.
3. There are daily scheduled flights from Vancouver Airport to Anahim Lake (approximately a 1 hour flight) with Pacific Coastal Airlines. You will be picked up from the airport and shuttled to the guest ranch (approximately a 45 minute drive).
